Rosemary, carer in High river

Hello, my name is Rosemary, 55 years young.
I am a Certified Health Care Aide, specialized in seniors with dementia.
When I was 14 I started working with seniors in the holidays. This was in senior care facilities.
At first it was bringing them their meals, cleaning rooms.
After High School I became the helper of the Aides, back then I didn't need the certification.
I loved working with seniors, only thing I had a hard time with their passing away.
That is when I started to work with children.
After a year I noticed that I was missed helping the seniors and taking care of them.
I have a soft spot for seniors, I finally had found my true calling.
I became a Health Care Aide. Now specialized in working with seniors with dementia.
Now I was older I was also seeing that the seniors in care facilities where understaffed, which means less time for each senior.
My goal became working for seniors in the own home environment and keeping them home as long as possible. Your client becomes the boss, which gives them a huge sense of worth. And as HCA you do everything you can to work together with your client and their family, to keep their mother/father safe at home.
