I graduated from Rockridge Secondary School this year with straight A's and have maintained honour roll with distinction every year of high school. I will be attending the University of Calgary for their nursing program and fastball team in September. I grew up with pets and parents who have raised me to love animals. I grew up with a dog who passed away around 8 years ago, a cat that just recently passed away at the age of 19, a snail that I raised from an egg until it was 8 years old, and I now have a puppy and cat. Our house is surrounded by a forest so we often get racoons and skunks that visit us, sometimes injured. We have called wildlife control several times on injured animals that we have seen and made it our top priority to take care of them safely until workers have come to take them away to a wildlife rescue centre. This past summer we tried to save a baby squirrel whos mother had kicked out of her nest, however, it was infested with worms and didn't survive.
