It was in my late teens that I started helping to make things a little easier for my grandmother by doing errands with and for her as well as taking on some of her household chores. She was a child minder, and I would go over to her house everyday to help lighten the load for her. When she got ill, I moved in an completely took over the running of her house. I'm now doing something similar for my mother. While she pretty much handles her own housework, I help her out by getting her around to her appointments and bringing her grocery shopping etc.
I guess I've always had a very nurturing nature and have enjoyed taking care of people young and old alike. Sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference in the quality of life, and that is what I'm looking to do.
