I am an active Sr. Citizen, healthy, and looking for part-time work for helping the elderly. I can iron, do laundry, light housekeeping, some light meal preparation, bed changing/making. I could also sit and talk, play cards or board games, or read to the infirm. If they are able, could take them for little outings, i.e. walks, shopping, Dr.;s appointments. I cannot lift persons or maneuver elderly who cannot support their own weight or must be wheelchair bound. As a woman, I would prefer to look after women. I have no professional training, but did look after my mother and my father consistently in their last year of life. I am a kind, and compassionate person, but I do have a large grown family with grandchildren. I need to be able to go see and spend a little time with them, so flexability is important to me and hopefully workable for the one who needs care. Since I prefer part-time, no more than 8 hours a week is my goal.

Looking after Sr. Citizens requires a lot of diligence and care....especially if involves cooking, or housework or taking them out for Dr.'s appointments / shopping. Then my car must be used, also. I would consider a negotiable rate for outings, whereas time spent with them at their home or cooking/cleaning for them, I would rather charge by the hour. I believe the rate I quoted is around the average rate for this geographical area. Considering what needs have to be met, I could be flexible with the price under their circumstances. In all cases, I want them to be comfortable and I want to be fair so all involved is happy with the situation.
