Vanessa, lessons languages in Oromocto E2V

Car

I am Vanessa , I am currently doing a double major in French and History. I am planning on becoming a French teacher once I graduate, as French is my first language.

I've done some tutoring mostly in French and I would like to practice the skill of teaching another language or helping someone master another language.
By doing so I will be able to apply everything that I have learned whilst tutoring when I get to teachers college! I think it is a fantastic opportunity for me to get an inside look on what I will be doing when I jump into my carreer as a school teacher.
I am proficient in reading, writing and oral French communication.
Also I am proficient in reading, writing and oral English communication, as I learnt English and French at the same time.

Depending on what level of French or English that I would be tutoring in, I can find plenty of excercises that may help your child improve their reading/writing and speaking skills in both French and English. Such as grammar excersices, I can bring in some reading materials from different reading levels depending on where the pupil is at with their reading. In terms of writing excersices, I would most likely be taking exerps from various workbooks in order to test the comprehension of the pupil.

I'm a strong believer that one good way to get kids to really engage in their education is to get them to interact with the materials that they are learning with, not in the way that the teacher would normally lecture and the students would sit in the classroom and take notes. By incorporating interactive games and relying on visual, oral and touch stimuli in order to convey what the teacher is trying to get the students to learn it really gets them to stop and analyse what they are learning. Thus, they retain more information by directly interacting with what they are learning about.
For example: if a young student (kindergarden level learning) was learning about the name of colours and clothing items in French; I would bring pieces of paper with images of clothing on them that bear the appropriate name for that item (i.e.: chemise, pantalons, souliers, robe, etc..) and have images with colours on them (i.e.: violet, rouge, jaune, marron, bleu, etc..) then I would have the students working in teams, based on a short sentence that I would read to them; they would have to identify which item of clothing based on the images that they have infront of them and then match it to the appropriate colour according to the description that was read to them.

Explanation:

Since I want to be a teacher, I am paying for my teaching degree. I am charging 10$ per hour of tutoring because most students that I have tutored usually have one hour long sessions depending on the level of work that needs to be done. Also everything that I make from tutoring is going towards my university expenses; textbooks, summer courses, and teaching degree.
