I currently hold a Bachelor of Arts in Honours English (with a concentration in creative writing) and a Masters in Arts in English from the University of Ottawa.
At UOttawa, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for Technical Report Writing and Business Writing. In this position, I worked closely with a supervising teacher, taught tutorial groups, and marked assignments. During my undergraduate, I was a Marking Assistant for Effective Writing. Each of these courses deals primarily with effective communication and proper grammar.
During my undergraduate I tutored GED. I worked five summers as a camp counselor, which allowed me to teach in a different setting - ie, workshops. I led drama workshops as well as "Global Adventures" in which I organized and implemented lessons, games, and activities.
My area of expertise is English (ie, language arts), but I would also be available to tutor in other high school subjects.
