Rhiannan, marketplace-service-senior-2772894 à Okotoks T1S

My name is Rhiannan and I am a 24 year old Australian coming to live in Okotoks on a 2 year working Visa from Sept 25th 2017.

My grandmother who was 101 years of age passed away last year, and we were very close. I like to think that I was a good companion for her as we used to spend time talking and telling stories. I was very patient with her, as sometimes as her mind wandered, I would let her continue to speak how she felt..

I am extremely close with my Nan and Pop who I was living with in Australia before I left to travel. I helped cook for them, do shopping, cleaning and driving them places they needed to be. While they are both only just reaching 80, they are doing very well, but I feel like my help was definitely appreciated and needed.

I enjoy the company of older people as they have so much to tell and have some pretty amazing personalities.

I have spent a lot of time volunteering in a Palliative Care Hospital in Sydney (where my Father passed away), so I have been a good emotional support for people of all ages while they were going through a very difficult time in their lives. I think this helps me to be empathetic, caring, patient, kind and nurturing.
