I am a 30year old female with a 12year medical background. Starting with employment at community living as a developmental worker for youth suffering from autism and other forms of disabilities.
I went from there in to the community as an hsw and psw. Traveling from home to home with chronically ill, mainly geriatrics and palliative individuals wanting to live or die in there home. I administered meds, provided them with their adl's, (bathing, etc) and housechores such as laundry, dishes and cleaning
I then moved in to the nursing home where i provided constant care to those medically fragile who couldnt take care of themselves. We would get the resident up in the morning, shower them, feed them, walk them if needed, take them to activities, etc.
From there i completed my advanced palliative and worked in end of life care with individuals who were in their final stages of life.
