In May of 2015, I graduated with my Bachelor of Education from UPEI. To be accepted into the program it was required that I take a Math course, English course, Social Studies course, Science course, History course, and a Classics course, so I have some experience in those subject areas. The areas that I am most qualified to teach, however, are English, Math, Humanities, Social Studies, and Science. My degree is good for teaching K-6, but I can also tutor high school students in English, Math, Humanities, and Social Studies. During high school I tutored a couple of students in Math and it was something that I really enjoyed.
I think when it comes to tutoring students you must be patient and flexible. Every student has a different learning style and it is important to cater to the different learning styles as a tutor. If you try to teach something one way and it does not work, you have to try another way. Everyone has the potential to learn- you just have to give it time.
